Welcome to Nursery
Meet the Team
Class Teacher - Mrs Laura Metcalfe
Nursery Nurse - Mrs Susan Gray
All children aged 3 and over are eligible to receive 15 hours free nursery education. Children are admitted in the term after their third birthday. If spare places are available, we will consider admitting a pupil as soon as they turn three, before their funded place begins. This will be decided on a case by case basis.
In EYFS, we follow the 2012 Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. The children’s learning and development is taught through seven areas of learning, which are:
-
Communication and Language
-
Physical Development
-
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
-
Literacy
-
Mathematics
-
Understanding the World
-
Expressive Arts and Design
At Glenaire, our Foundation Stage staff whole-heartedly believe in encouraging and developing child-initiated learning. This approach means that the children are the originators of an activity and are directing their own learning, which results in extremely high levels of interest and engagement.
