If you are worrying how you will afford food over the February half term and/or…
School has been part of the National School Breakfast Programme for over a year now and the Magic Breakfast charity has supplied us with bagels to offer all children a healthy breakfast to start their day.
In response to the Covid 19 outbreak, we have continued to be supplied with bagels but also cereal, porridge and beans. Over the next few days we will be delivering these items with packed lunches.
Today we will be delivering bagels!
Please contact school if you don’t have a packed lunch delivered but would like a pack of bagels. There are 5 bagels in each pack and the best before date is 20th April.
We have been asked by the National School Breakfast Programme to inform parents/cares of the information below:
New York bagels are currently supplied in supermarket style packs, they are fully labelled and have a best before date. In case the bagels arrive close to the best before date, we would like to draw your attention to Food Standards Agency advice:
The best before date, sometimes shown as BBE (best before end), is about quality and not safety. The food will be safe to eat after this date but may not be at its best. Its flavour and texture might not be as good.
The bagels can be frozen and taken from the freezer individually as needed.
