Daily Mile Destinations Challenge

A huge thank you to all those who got involved wit the Aldi Get Set to Eat Fresh competition.  We did an amazing job managing to completely fill 3 150 space sheets.  This means we have three chances of winning the £20,000!! The Sports Council already have plenty of ideas on how they want to spend the money if we won! Fingers crossed!!

to the five children who took part in the Bradford School Games Boccia competition last week.  The team played 7 games, winning 4, drawing 1 and losing 2.  We just missed out on a medal place but the girls have said they are planning to return next year and snatch the title.  Well done to everyone involved!

Glenaire Primary School is proud to announce that it now has its very first Sports Council.  Two children from each year group have been chosen to represent their class.  The children were really enthusiastic and raring to go.  We’ve got lots of things in the pipe line so watch this space!

to the Year 3/4 Football team who took part in the Bradford School Games Football tournament the first day back this half term! The boys had a fantastic attitude towards each game.  They worked fantastically as a team and were very proud of their 0-0 draw against Sandal.

Huge congratulations to the three children who represented Glenaire Primary School at the Bingley Harriers Cross Country event last week – Paulina, Megan and Zach.  They did an incredible job of representing our school.  Well done!! (And thank you to grown ups who brought them along!)

Aldi’s Get Set to Eat Fresh competition is now running.  All you have to do is collect the stickers from Aldi and bring them into school.

How do I get the stickers?

Just spend £30 or more in Aldi on your weekly shop and you’ll receive a special Team GB athlete sticker.  As a school we have to collect 300 stickers to receive an exclusive sports kit and the chance to win £20,000 for our school!

We only have until 3rd November to collect as many stickers as we can….so let’s get going!

After speaking with the school council it was clear there was something missing from play times and lunch times. We needed something to climb on and play around…We needed a NEW TRIM TRAIL!! Unfortunately, the previous trim trail was rotten and had to be removed but fear not, a brand new trim trail will be arriving during the Easter holidays, ready for you to test out at play time and lunch time.  There will be a variety of stations, providing different challenges for all.

15 children from Year 4 and 5 have been selected to take part in achieving their Play Makers Award.  Over the course of 3 sessions the children will learn how to set up fun, engaging activities for other children to encourage them to get moving and be active.  The Play Makers will then have the opportunity to plan and carry out some of these activities during play time and lunch time.

Daily Mile

Have you seen our new Daily Mile track?  Philip Davies MP will be visiting school on 29th March to officially open our new, inspirational track. Whether you can do the mile in 10 minutes or you can manage a few laps, the aim is to keep improving on your own personal achievement and to live a healthier lifestyle.  Today – 2 laps jogging, tomorrow – who knows!
