In Year 6 we come to the end of our primary years and begin to prepare for the transition to secondary school. We act as role-models for the younger children in school and our status as the eldest pupils is shown by our different uniform. We have the opportunity to be lunchtime buddies and to help in the office. In the summer term we sit our Key Stage 2 SATs and have a residential adventure at Ingleborough Hall Activity Centre
Our topics this year are:
|Autumn 1||Autumn 2||Spring 1||Spring 2||Summer 1||Summer 2|
|World War 2: Battle of Britain||Crime and Punishment||Mayans||South America||Enterprise: The Apprentice|

Key stage 2
Your child will take national tests in May towards the end of key stage 2. These test your child’s skills in:
- English reading
- English grammar, punctuation and spelling
- maths arithmetic and reasoning
The tests are spread across four days and we do everything we can to help the children feel relaxed and comfortable with the process. The tests are sent away to be marked and the results are returned to school in July. You will receive your child’s results with their end of year report.
