Welcome to the Governors’ page of our website.
All maintained schools are required to have a governing body whose main role is provide strategic leadership, and accountability to parents and the local authority for educational and financial performance. Governors are not directly responsible for managing the school and its staff: that’s the job of the headteacher. Governors are more like the owners of a football club, where the head teacher is like the manager.
Our governors, who are all volunteers, include parent governors, staff governors, a local authority representative and a number of co-opted governors. The latter are people who are very keen to see Glenaire succeed and have been invited on to the governing body so that the school can benefit from their expertise.
The Footprints Federation Governing Body works across all three schools in our federation.
Pam Freeman is the Footprints Federation Chair of Governors and can be contacted by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or via the school office by letter.
