About Us

Glenaire has a superb setting within the location of Baildon Green, approximately 4 miles north of Bradford in a semi-rural position. It is within easy walking distance of Saltaire, Titus Salt’s model village and mill, now a world heritage site, and also to the nearby countryside of Shipley Glen and Baildon Moor.

Our school opened on 3rd November 1966 and we are a one form entry primary school providing education for boys and girls aged 3-11.

We continuously strive for improvement here at Glenaire.  Some of our improvements include additions to Nursery including a creative outdoor facility and enhancements to our nature garden including an outdoor classroom where we enjoy taking the children to explore, discover and learn. We are incredibly fortunate to have extensive outdoor space, including direct access to surrounding woodland- a truly exciting place to learn!

Glenaire currently has 220 children on roll (including nursery). We had a successful Ofsted inspection in September 2012 which can be viewed at www.ofsted.gov.uk.  With strong Governors’ support, we pride ourselves in teaching a broad, balanced and exciting curriculum tailored to each child.

At Glenaire, we aim to provide children with memorable learning experiences through a broad, balanced and creative curriculum which meets our children’s needs and makes the most of our local area. We will continue to raise levels of achievement through effective leadership which will secure high quality learning experiences for all pupils. Children will feel safe, happy, valued and challenged in a nurturing environment. We will ensure that all children are prepared for the next steps in their education by creating a love of learning and developing confidence, respect, self-esteem and independence. We will work in close collaboration with parents, involving them in all aspects of school life and respecting and supporting the essential role they play in their child’s development. Glenaire will be a school that children are proud to be a part of and that staff are proud to work in.

At Glenaire Primary School we have 5 Golden Rules that we all try hard to keep.

  • Listen to each other and speak politely
  • Do our best work and let others learn
  • Care for each other and school property
  • Play safe games which do not hurt others
  • Try to be kind, helpful and honest
